Charity of the Year 2012

Tesco UK's Charity of the Year for 2012 is Cancer Research UK.

Tesco Charity Logo

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading cancer charity, dedicated to saving lives through research, and with which Tesco has a long and proud association.

With over one in three people in the UK developing some form of cancer during their lifetime, the illness is likely to touch every one of us in some way. Huge steps in combating the disease have already been made, but there is still much more to do.

Our Goal

Starting in March, Tesco UK aims to raise £10 million in a single year for research and awareness to improve early diagnosis and detection of the disease, and help more people survive cancer, keeping more families together.

This new and strengthened partnership will be in addition to Tesco UK's continued support of Race for Life.

What we've achieved so far

During the past 10 years, over two-thirds of Tesco staff have taken part or supported this great event, raising a fantastic £7.5 million themselves, and helping the Race for Life series as a whole to reach its overall incredible total to date of £457 million.

As in previous years Tesco UK will pay the registration fee for its staff to enter Race For Life.
