Tesco Compare is now running an exciting new Clubcard promotion on Car Insurance, where you can collect 1000 Clubcard Points when buying your policy through Tesco Compare.
All you need to do is enter your correct Clubcard number on the Tesco Compare website along with your other details when buying car insurance from one of the following providers between the 24th July and the 17th September 2008.
We’ve tried to answer any questions you might have about our Clubcard offer below:
Q. I bought my car insurance outside of the promotion dates - can I still collect my Clubcard Points?
A. Unfortunately we can only offer points to customers buying insurance through Tesco Compare from the 24th July to the 17th September 2008.
Q. I bought my car insurance over the phone after getting the quote on Tesco Compare; can I still collect my Clubcard Points?
A. Yes, but please make sure you supply your Tesco Compare quote reference number to the insurer when buying over the phone.
Q. I’ve bought using Tesco Compare but how do I know that you’ve got my details?
A. As each sale is made directly with our insurance provider and not through Tesco Compare, we can’t acknowledge each individual purchase and confirm that you are eligible for your Clubcard Points. But you can be sure that so long as you meet all the criteria detailed in the Terms and Conditions your points will be credited by Tesco Compare in the next available quarterly statement.
Q. How long will I have to wait to have my points awarded?
A. The points you will collect when buying through Tesco Compare will appear on your February 2009 Clubcard Statement if not earlier. Tesco Compare can only process Clubcard points on a quarterly basis. This is because we need to wait for our insurance providers to inform us about your purchase and whether or not you cancelled in the two weeks after buying. Therefore you will not see your points available to you anywhere other than on your quarterly statements. Your Tesco Compare points should appear on the next available quarterly statement following your purchase and the end of the two week cancellation period.
Q. I’ve purchased - why can’t I see my points?
A. Tesco Compare can only process points on a quarterly basis on receipt of sales confirmation (together with any cancellations) from our insurance providers. Therefore unlike store purchases, we cannot immediately apply points to your account.
Q. The policy holder name on my insurance policy does not match the name on my Clubcard.
A. Unfortunately Clubcard points can only be awarded where the main policy holder’s name on the insurance policy matches the name of the Clubcard holder. If you are a named driver on a policy in someone else’s name, no match will be made and no points allocated.
Q. How do I add my Clubcard number if I have already searched for quotes?
A. So long as you have not yet purchased please log in to your account and select amend quote. Enter your Clubcard details and click submit to rerun your quote. If you have purchased already and omitted your Clubcard number please contact our customer service team using the contact us form available from the footer below.
Q. I already have Tesco Car or Tesco Home insurance - do I still get the points?
A. Unfortunately not - Tesco Compare is a separate and wholly independent service to the insurance products offered by Tesco Personal Finance. Tesco Compare offers are only eligible for customers who make their purchases through the Tesco Compare website within the offer periods. The points can not be applied retrospectively.

1,000 Clubcard Points Terms and Conditions
1,000 Clubcard points from Tesco Compare when you purchase Car Insurance from participating insurance companies through the Tesco Compare website between 24th July and 17th September 2008. The policy must be purchased through the Tesco Compare website by clicking on the ‘Buy Now’ button. The name entered as the policy holder on the website must match the name on the Tesco Clubcard for the Clubcard number that you are submitting and must be entered on the Tesco Compare website when obtaining a quote. Failure to do so will mean the points will not be allocated to the Clubcard holder’s statement. Clubcard points will appear on the next available Clubcard statement. If the policy is cancelled within two weeks of purchase then no Clubcard points will be awarded.
