Tescocompare.com tops Defaqto table for the second time running Tescocompare.com has defended its top place as Defaqto’s best car insurance comparison site. Defaqto, an independent financial research company, carried out an analysis of 41 motor insurance comparison sites, assessing them for functionality and usability features. Tescocompare.com, which topped the tables in Defaqto’s previous analysis in October 2007, scored a rating of 77% this time, once again the highest score of all tested sites.

The Sexy Green Car Show at the Eden Project in Devon should attract its fair share of visitors from around the country. Carrot not the stick will persuade motorists to go green New research by Tescocompare.com, the car insurance comparison site, reveals that 2.0 million motorists claim to drive an environmentally friendly car – but that over 21 million would consider converting to a ’green’ or low-emission car if the price was more competitive and the government offered incentives for doing so.

Research published today by Tescocompare.com, reveals that women are much more likely to have read the descriptions and details of what they buy than men, apart from when it comes to those traditionally male items – cars and technology.

Admiral, Diamond and Endsleigh brands join Tescocompare.com Tescocompare.com announces today the addition of three new car insurance brands to its car insurance comparison service. Admiral, Diamond and Endsleigh are the latest additions to Tescocompare.com, further strengthening its unique panel and increasing the number of car insurance brands to choose from to 33.

Tescocompare.com – A car insurance comparison site for the loyal customer Research published today by Tescocompare.com provides an insight into the 7.8 million loyal car insurance customers who haven't switched insurers in the last five years. The primary motivation for these consumers to remain loyal is the level of cover their policy provides, not the 'no claims bonus' or the price of the policy. In fact, the price they pay for their car insurance becomes increasingly less important the more loyal the customer is.

It pays to move in together Co-habiting or married couples could be wasting money on their car insurance premiums by failing to take out joint policies, new research from Tescocompare.com warns. Tescocompare.com highlights that co-habiting couples could be saving an average of over £100 by adding their partner as an additional driver to their existing car insurance policies.

Tescocompare.com comes out on top again Tescocompare.com has been rated the cheapest price comparison site for car insurance by independent research agency Consumer Intelligence. The research compared the top five car insurance aggregator sites and looked at how often each of them delivered the cheapest quote on 2000 consumer risk profiles. For the second month in a row, Tescocompare.com came out on top, with the cheapest quote on over 39% of the risk profiles in December 2007.

Ensuring consumers fully understand the costs of a policy It is not surprising that some consumers are finding it difficult to fully understand the different cover levels on insurance polices offered via some comparison sites. Every single insurance policy will vary in its exact details from other policies and some aggregator sites are not helping consumers to compare policies on a like for like basis.

Motorists have yet to learn the switching game While it has been widely reported that Britons have been proving that they are keen switchers when it comes to utilities and telecoms providers, new research by TescoCompare.com reveals that British motorists are playing catch-up, with only a third of the nation's car owners (32%) stating that they have switched their car insurance provider in the last 12 months.

Tesco brings supermarketing to the financial services industry by launching a motor insurance comparison site Tesco Personal Finance announces the launch of TescoCompare.com, a new car insurance comparison site. The site will be an extension of Tesco’s successful joint venture with RBS. This is the first time a UK supermarket will be offering personal finance products from a variety of different brands.
