This is in stark comparison with the independent research carried out by Consumer Intelligence earlier this year, which found TescoCompare.com to provide the cheapest car insurance quote in the highest number of circumstances for the second month in a row."

"Consumer Intelligence’s research compared the top five car insurance comparison sites and looked at how often each of them delivered the cheapest quote on 2000 consumer risk profiles, 20 times the number looked at by the ‘snapshot’ Ipsos MORI research, upon which moneysupermarket.com’s claim is based. The Consumer Intelligence data is truly independent as the 2000 consumer risk profiles are the same that the Office of National Statistics uses to calculate inflation on car insurance.
