Hospital parking tops hate list
Parking charges at hospitals top the list of most hated perceived injustices, according to a survey.
A leading provider of car insurance reports that having to pay to visit the sick and dying is the "tax on living" we hate the most.
The survey cites examples of where people have become so angry and frustrated, they deliberately risked being ticketed or clamped by refusing to pay.
Also well up there on the hit list is having to spend a lot more than a penny to use public toilets, plus dental bills and surcharges when booking flights.
Meanwhile, general taxes are another focus of growing anger and discontent, particularly national insurance and inheritance, council and road taxes.
Says a spokesman for the Co-operative "The research confirms that there are many charges the public begrudgingly has to pay for. Unsurprisingly, taxes are a bone of contention, with even tax on savings coming above prescription charges and dentists bills."
